					<title>&quot;High Positions&quot;</title>
					<link>http://covenantcog.com/stormyouthdailydevotionblog.cfm?feature=1568148&amp;postid=435982</link>
					<description>

&amp;quot;The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position&amp;quot; (James 1:9).
&amp;nbsp;
Whenever God takes a saint to a very lowly state it is designed to accomplish something only that process can do. Job learned that &amp;quot;He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light&amp;quot; (Job 12:22). Job&apos;s trials allowed him to learn things about God, himself and his friends that we all needed to know as well. He assumed things about God that he had to recant: &amp;quot;Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know&amp;quot; (Job 42:3).

God reveals things in the dark places of circumstances that will be used to reveal something He wants you and others to know. He has sent you ahead to learn these things so that you and others will benefit from your unique experience. God views this place where you receive these truths as a high position. The world views it as a place to be despised.

&amp;quot;He called down a famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food; and he sent a man before them - Joseph, sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons, till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true&amp;quot; (Psalms 105:16-19). Joseph was also led to this high position. It was here he was prepared to be the most powerful man in the world as a thirty-year old. He learned many things about God during his captivity that was used later as a ruler over a nation.

So, if you find yourself in a lowly state, realize your lowly state is considered a high position by God that is preparation soil for revealing deep things from the dark places that God desires you to learn.&amp;nbsp;

					<description>Ezra 7:1-10

Ezra 7
The Arrival of Ezra
1 Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah, 2 the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub, 3 the son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth, 4 the son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki, 5 the son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest&amp;mdash; 6 this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given. The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him. 7 Some of the children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim came up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes. 8 And Ezra came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king. 9 On the first day of the first month he began his journey from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.

Ezra 7:27-28

27 Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king&amp;rsquo;s heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem, 28 and has extended mercy to me before the king and his counselors, and before all the king&amp;rsquo;s mighty princes.
So I was encouraged, as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me; and I gathered leading men of Israel to go up with me.

&amp;quot;Seeing God&amp;rsquo;s Hand&amp;quot;

On Jack Borden&amp;rsquo;s 101st birthday, he awoke at 5 a.m., ate a hearty breakfast, and was at his law office by 6:30 ready to begin his day. When asked the secret of his long life, the practicing attorney smiled and quipped, &amp;ldquo;Not dying.&amp;rdquo;

But there&amp;rsquo;s more to it than that. Mr. Borden, who was baptized at age 11 in the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, told Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reporter David Casstevens, &amp;ldquo;I&amp;rsquo;m a firm believer that God has His hand in everything that happens. He is letting me live for some reason. I try to do the things that I believe He wants me to.&amp;rdquo;

Ezra the priest experienced the &amp;ldquo;good hand of his God upon him&amp;rdquo; when he led a delegation to Jerusalem to provide spiritual leadership for the former captives who were rebuilding the temple and the city (Ezra 7:9-10). Ezra found strength and courage in knowing that the Lord was with them each step of the way. &amp;ldquo;So I was encouraged, as the hand of the Lord my God was upon me; and I gathered leading men of Israel to go up with me&amp;rdquo; (v.28).

When we see the Lord&amp;rsquo;s hand in our lives, it brings forth a deep &amp;ldquo;Thank You&amp;rdquo; and a growing desire to do what He wants us to do.

If we would view through eyes of faith
The course of each new day,
We&amp;rsquo;d quickly see God&amp;rsquo;s gracious hand
In all that comes our way. &amp;mdash;D. De Haan

If you know that God&amp;rsquo;s hand is in everything,
you can leave everything in God&amp;rsquo;s hands.
